Principles Of Ventilation

Using the principle of wind induction (Bernoulli’s Principle), Hurricane® Plus combines the natural ventilation effect of hot air rising and the induction effect of the wind over the sharp cylindrical edge to remove air from the indoor space. As long as there are low level inlet grills to allow make-up air, there will be a consistent flow of fresh air throughout the building.

Energy Efficiency By Natural Technology

Hurricane® Plus is a unique and patented design which uses the energy of the wind to expel air from the building.

The so-called static ventilation device draws the air from the enclosed space by creating a low-pressure zone above the top dome. By correctly sizing the dome to match the external cylinder, this enhanced pressure difference produces a strong outward flow.

This is a smoke visualisation test conducted in the University of Adelaide Wind Tunnel. It demonstrates the cold smoke being induced out of the enclosure due to the force of the wind.
